A green day for African women in global health. 💚
Celebrating the appointment of our very own Tsitsi Chawatama who has been appointed Chair of Save the Children UK
This is a remarkable achievement for Tsitsi and the Zimbabwean diaspora as a whole. I have worked with Tsitsi on a number of projects, and I was very honored to have carried out training in Binga, rural Zimbabwe with her in 2019 through our ZHTS Diaspora charity.
Tsitsi comes with a wealth of experience in child health and a deep commitment to children’s rights. The timing of her appointment could not be more urgent as COVID19 reveals wide inequalities in our societies. The evidence is clear, where women lead, societies thrive.
Tsitsi said
‘I am delighted and honoured to be joining the board of Save the Children UK at such a crucial time in history where children’s lives and their future wellbeing are threatened by unprecedented social, environmental and economic issues,’ Tsitsi said. ‘I am a passionate advocate for children and excited to be part of the team working towards the important goals of protecting children, supporting families and ensuring that each child has a chance to achieve their potential and become whoever they want to be.’
Well done Tsitsi, you have our African blessings
